10 ways to upcycle wooden pallets for your wedding

If you want to make yourself some rustic decor then wooden pallets are a great thing to look for. They are usually super reasonable or completely free - speak to a few big companies near you who get large deliveries and they may be kind enough to spare a few, or check out sites like gumtree. There are so many things you can do with them, but here are some of the best ideas…

  1. Welcome Sign

Probably one of the most obvious ones, but a pallet is the perfect starting point for a wedding welcome sign to greet your guests. Sand, stain if you want and use paint, a paint pen or decals to decorate.

2. Backdrop

If you want to add an extra something to your ceremony photos then a pretty backdrop is a must, and wooden ones are perfect for a rustic wedding. Add flowers, or fairy lights if you’re somewhere a bit darker, stand it up and there you go!

This is such a simple and easy way to display your seating plan!

4. Order of the day

If you need to tell your guests what is going down on your big day, then you need an order of the day, and what better way to do it than with each slat of your reclaimed pallet. Again, it’s super simple once you sand your wood - just use paint, a paint pen or decals.

5. Photo display

Whether it is pictures of you and your guests, pictures of you both together or an alternative guest book or seating plan, then a pallet is the perfect option to display photos. Everybody loves a wedding photobooth! Use your reclaimed pallet as the backdrop, find some props, set up a camera and look forward to seeing the embarrassing pictures of your guests the next day.

The slats on pallets make them perfect for a list so why not add the drinks or food that you’re serving for a cool and rustic alternative to a menu.

9. Guest Book

If you manage to get a hold of a smaller pallet then it could be used a guest book that you can hang up on your walls after the big day and keep forever! Just make sure you have pens/paint pens that show up on the wood.
