What you need:

Step One:

Blow up your balloon, and measure the space across the middle, both up and down to figure out how big you need your decal to be.

Step Two:

Cut out your decal using your cutting machine, or if you’re buying one, for a 24” balloon you don’t want anything bigger than about 12x6 inches. If you have different balloons or aren’t sure though, then just ask the seller and hopefully they should be able to help.

I used permanent vinyl for my balloon, and then you ideally want as low tack transfer tape as possible, or use masking tape. Just something that isn’t too sticky and won’t pop your balloon when you remove it.

Step Three:

Cut around the decal, as close to the design as possible, and make small cuts in the paper and transfer paper, being careful not to cut the lettering when you do it. This will help it bend around the balloon.

You may also want to cut it into sections if there are multiple lines.

Step Four:

Place something on either side of the balloon to keep it steady and to stop it from rolling,

Then turn the decal over, remove the backing paper and apply it by placing the center down onto the balloon first and then rubbing outwards carefully.

Step Five:

Once all of the vinyl is on the balloon, start peeling the transfer paper off. This may be a little bit tricky - if so, just go super slow and keep pushing the vinyl down if it peels back up with the tape.

Step Six:

You could also add some extra hearts or embellishment if there is space, but otherwise your balloon is done! And it should stay stuck as long as the balloon lasts, although it is also removable too if you are careful.
