How To Apply Vinyl Decals to Books

In association with Love Life Lettering

It is super simple to apply decals to books to make your own personalised guest books, photo albums, memory books... pretty much any kind of custom book that you want to create as a keepsake or to make as a gift!

WHAT YOU NEED:

Personalised Decal - I used Ritrama Permanent Vinyl
Transfer Tape (included with all of Love Life Lettering's designs)
Blank Scrapbook

STEP ONE:

Get rid of all of the excess vinyl so that you're just left with the design that you want to stick on your book. Remember to get the bits in between the letters, but don't accidentally take away any i dots or punctuation.

STEP TWO:

Now you need to apply the transfer tape over the design, sticky side down.

(If your transfer tape feels super sticky, try sticking it to your clothes a few times to get rid of the stick)

Now use a vinyl applicator or plastic store card to smooth out the transfer tape, getting rid of any bumps or air bubbles.

STEP THREE:

Once you're happy that the transfer tape has fully stuck to the design, turn it over and remove the backing paper from the vinyl.

STEP FOUR:

Now place your design down on to your scrapbook where you want it to go, and use your store card/vinyl applicator again to smooth down the design on to the book, getting rid of any bumps or bubbles.

Once you're happy that the design is stuck, start peeling off the transfer tape. Go really slowly, so that if any bit of the design is pulled up with the tape you can smooth it back down on to the book.

And that's it done! Make a guest book for your guests to leave you messages in on your wedding day, make a photo album to collect your lovely photos or give as gifts for the bridal party or for other celebrations like mothers day or an anniversary.

And if you want to make your own vinyl decals for unlimited wedding gifts and decorations, then get yourself a Cricut machine or a Silhouette Cameo! There are 1000 different things you can do with them, and they will help you make Christmas gifts, Birthday gifts, party decorations and plenty of other crafty things for years to come.
