WHAT YOU NEED:

A personalised name Vinyl decal - I used Ritrama Permanent Vinyl
Transfer tape/paper (Comes in rolls on Amazon but LLL include it with all of their designs)
A Plain Wooden Hanger - available from most home stores like Ikea or Amazon

STEP ONE:

Before you can apply your letters, the vinyl needs to be 'weeded' if it hasn't been already. This means taking away all of the excess vinyl around the outside of the letters so that you're left just with what you need.

Don't forget to get rid of the middle of the letters (you can use a pin or something similar to get rid of the middles if it's easier - just be careful!), and go slowly around any full stops or i dots, making sure you don't accidentally take them with the rest of the vinyl!

STEP TWO:

Now take your transfer paper and place it sticky side down on to your vinyl wording.

Then, using a plastic store card or a vinyl applicator if you have one, smooth down the transfer paper, getting rid of any bumps or air bubbles. This is to make sure that the wording is completely stuck to the transfer plastic.

STEP THREE:

Now peel the backing off the vinyl sticker so you're left with just the words and the transfer tape.

Now you're ready to stick it on to your clothes hanger. Make sure the surface you're placing it on is smooth, dry and clean, line it up (use washi tape to mark out a straight line if needed) and then stick to the hanger. Use your store card/vinyl applicator again to really push down on the letters and make sure they're fully stuck to the hanger.

Now peel the transfer tape off very slowly. If any letters pull up with the transfer tape, press it back down, give the letters another go over with the store/card applicator and try again. Remember to keep a look out for those pesky escaping 'i' dots and full stops too!
