The Best Places to Buy and Sell Used Wedding Decor

If you're on a budget and you're struggling with decorations, or if you're still surrounded by bits and pieces from your wedding, then there are a long list of places out there where you can buy and sell lots of lovely pre-loved wedding items and share the love with another couple.

Check out a few of the best places to try below...

I can't vouch for any of these sites personally and am not responsible for anything bought from or sold via them. Just always be aware of what you're buying and who you're buying from, ideally checking out reviews or using Paypal with sellers protection if you're selling to an individual.

Sell MyWedding (UK)

I have only just come across this website and I'm gutted I didn't spot it sooner as I could have gone crazy on there for my wedding! It's such a good site full of gorgeous decor, crafts and accessories.

There are also wedding vendors on there with lots of lovely stuff for hire, including this amazing donut wall which I'm desperate to test out... anyone else?

Ruffled - Recycle Your Wedding (US)

A Wedding Blog full of inspiration, Ruffled also has a section on their website for couples to buy and sell used wedding items and dresses. A lot of the things I've seen are on the pricier side but they are definitely worth a look if you're searching for high quality stuff.

They also have an amazing Pinterest and Instagram so be sure to check those out for inspiration too!

Ebay

A bit of an obvious one but also definitely worth mentioning! This is the place most people think of first when you mention the words second hand, so it figures that you should have good odds of selling stuff on there, but also good odds of finding some cheap stuff too.

I have sold lots of stuff on Ebay in the past and find that descriptive titles, clear photos and listing them to end on a sunday evening usually works best!

Bravo Bride (US)

This is a great option if you're selling as you can list all of your items for free and there are no sales commissions. If you're buying they have a great range of different things too and it is easy to find what you're looking for with their category search.

Craigslist

Although I've heard mixed reviews about things found on Craigslist, it is definitely worth a look, especially if you're looking for something in particular or if you're just having a browse at the wedding things on offer - you never know what you're going to find!

Wedding Facebook groups

There are a tonne of buy and sell facebook groups out there just for Weddings. Type in Weddings in groups and lots of different ones should come up. I also have a group especially for Wedding Decor, and people are welcome to sell their items in it, you can find it here.

Just like anytime you buy or sell from unknown individuals, you should watch out for scams (like the buyer asking to arrange delivery themselves so you don't get proof of postage) and for larger sales, perhaps consider using a Paypal invoice so you have sellers protection.

Facebook Marketplace

To sell more locally, try out Facebook Marketplace (in the top left of facebook home if you don't know already). This is good for bigger items that are harder to ship, and for picking up the odd bits and pieces, usually for a pretty good price.

Just like selling in facebook groups, just be wary of who you are buying from/selling to though!

Get in touch with your wedding venue

Chances are, if you're getting married at a popular venue, then there may have been bride and grooms that have left stuff behind from previous weddings that your venue may still have stored. They may also be able to put you in touch with some married couples who can hire or sell some of the items they had that fits that venue especially well. It's worth an ask and a chat anyway!

Thrift Store/Charity Shop

If you're planning a high tea theme, or you want a bit of boho mix and match decor, then do some trawling through second hand stores and vintage shops to see what you can find. Ask friends and family to keep an eye out too if you have something specific in mind and you never know what you might be able to find for a bargain!

If you're a bit crafty, there are also things you might be able to find to up-cycle into furniture, signage, a backdrop, or anything you can think of really!

Donate

This isn't selling, but for those with lots of left over wedding stuff who want to do some good, there are also lots of places that you can donate things to, like dresses to charities such as Wedding Wishing Well who organise weddings for terminally ill people, or organisations who make dresses into gowns for sleeping babies. Search for Charities in your area to see what they might need and how you can help.

Also, if you're specifically looking to buy or sell a second hand Wedding Dress, or want to sell yours, then there are a few sites that deal with just that specifically like Still White and Bride2Bride (they do also sell some wedding decor too).

This is just a small list of all of the places you can make some money from your big day, or save on your budget!

If you are still wedding planning, make sure to save this page for after your big day! Let me know if you have any other good wedding selling sites too. Leave a comment below
