The 10 Best Cricut Wedding Projects
I bought my Cricut 3 years ago specifically to make signs for my own wedding party and to sell, but I wish I had known about all of the other things it could do. I could have saved so much money and made so many more lovely bits and pieces... it kinda makes me want to plan another one!
That's why I have made this list so everyone with a cricut or silhouette, or who is thinking about buying a cutting machine, can really make the most out of it! This list is also handy if you know someone with a machine that may be happy to help you with your wedding prep (try bribing them with chocolate/wine/puppy cuddles!).
I am specifically talking about the Cricut Explore Air in the below list because that is what I have, but I'm sure a lot of these projects can be done on the Silhouette Cameo too and most of the other Cricut models, although the Cricut Joy can only cut a up to a certain size.

1. SAVE THE DATES & INVITATIONS
Possibly the obvious one for some, there are endless ways to use your Cricut to either make the whole of your save the date cards and invitations, or just parts of it. You can also make your wedding invitation envelopes look amazing too.
There are some great free templates on the Cricut website itself for all sorts of different themes, but you can also buy cut templates online like this one from Easy Cut Print PD on Etsy below if you want a fancy holder for your invites.
If you're designing your own invites, also check out my list of where to find the best free fonts here
2. COUNTDOWN SIGN
If you haven't quite got a date, venue or theme planned yet but you want to get going with the crafty goodness, then why not make yourself a countdown to the wedding sign. You can get chalkboard vinyl and add it with some wording to perspex or wood, or use a picture frame and some washable markers.

This is great as a gift for other recently engaged friends too!
3. WEDDING SIGNS
It is easy to make wedding signs without a cricut, however, if you don't have very good handwriting or you want something to look like it has been professionally made then using vinyl will do just that, whether it is stuck directly on the sign or used as a template.
I have a tonne of SVG/PNG designs you can use for your signs in my Etsy shop here:

4. FAVOURS
Again, there are so many different ideas for wedding favours out there, and one of the cheapest ways to do it is to DIY them! Personalise some mini candles, decant alcohol into miniature bottles with stickers on, or make mini boxes with candy in them... look for things you can buy in bulk for cheap and then personalise!
The one other thing I did use my cricut for when we got married was to make all of our guests some mini maple syrup favours. For the tutorial on how to make stickers with a cricut, visit my post here: Make Your Own Wedding Favour Stickers with a Cricut
5. CENTREPIECES & PLACE NAMES
This is dependant on your theme, but there is so much you can do to make your table look amazing. Decorate jars and bottles to put flowers in, make your own intricate cut file place names and use the cricut pen to write on them, make your own lanterns like the below (search Rustic Wedding Lanterns on Design Space Projects)
Once you have your style in place, you can then also do matching menus, table numbers and order of events cards. Go wild!
6. GIFTS
This is a no brainer! From putting together a gift box to pop the question to your bridesmaids to personalising some little trinkets for the bridal party mothers, you can treat all of your closest family and friends without breaking the bank. Think personalised glasses, box frames with 3D flowers, personalised cards for holding jewellery...

7. WEDDING MORNING DETAILS
The wedding morning is an important part of the day. Getting ready with your bridal party gives you amazing memories and some beautiful photographs, especially if you have some items ready to surprise them all.
There are lots of things you can do for the morning like making your own robes and slippers for your bridesmaids, and hangers for each member of the bridal party to hang their wedding clothes. Check out my tutorial for how to apply vinyl stickers to wedding hangers.
8. BACHELORETTE PARTY ITEMS
The cost of a bachelorette party can add up! By the time you pay for hotel stays and travel, food and drink, a new outfit... you get the feeling that you could have had a week away in the sunshine for the same cost! So if you want to make sure your weekend is complete with personalised tshirts and cute matching pjs, this is never going to be popular with those on a budget.
Therefore, using a cricut will come in super handy for cutting costs... it also means you can get everything exactly how you want it! Get some plain tshirts, or slippers, or whatever you want to personalise and use Heat Transfer Vinyl to add names and/or roles.
9. CAKE TOPPER
This is something I am yet to make successfully myself, but I have seen lots of examples from people who have made amazing ones using their cricut so I know it can be done! You just need to make sure the design has no gaps and can stand by itself like these ones available to buy on Etsy from InasPlacebyInaBela and then cut it out on both a hard backing like card or chipboard and a thinner decorative cover paper or vinyl so they can then be stuck together.
Test cut the thicker material before you do it, and best of luck - I would love to see the results of yours for inspiration if you make one, I will conquer the cake topper one day!
10. Bouquet
Something I'm seeing more of recently is paper flowers and actually, a paper flower bouquet is not as 'children's craft project' as it sounds! There are loads of free flower templates online and video tutorials on youtube that can help you make an amazing looking bunch of flowers, and all for just a fraction of the cost of real ones!
This gorgeous one below can be bought off Cricut Design Space, just search for Rustic Bridal Bouquet in projects.
And that is just a short list of all of the things that a cricut can help you do for your wedding. If you want even more ideas for what a Cricut can help you make for the rest of the year, check out our post 9 things to do with your Cricut after your wedding
If you don't already have a Cricut machine or a Silhouette Cameo, but you are crafty and want to do a lot of Wedding DIY then it is definitely a great option to consider. There are 1000 different things you can do with them, and they will help you make Christmas gifts, Birthday gifts, party decorations and plenty of other crafty things for years to come. Take a look at the Cricut website for more info but do think carefully before purchasing, it isn't the cheapest piece of equipment and it does take some learning so you do need to weigh up the pros and cons first before investing in one.
