The 10 Best Gifts for your Bridesmaids

This is the second instalment of my wedding gift guides (check out the first one for grooms here) and it's a list of the best ways to treat your best girlfriends by giving them a bridesmaids gift that they can treasure.

Give it to them the night before if you're all staying over together, to open on the morning of the wedding, or after the big day as a thank you for all of their help.

1. Personalised glass

A very useful gift, especially if you're planning on opening a bottle of bubbly on your wedding morning, is a personalised glass for each of your bridesmaids that they can keep after the big day.

Get some wine glass markers and write on some plain glasses yourself, or buy personalised ones online if you want something a bit fancier and more permanent.

2. Personalised robe

To carry on down the personalised route, another handy item for the morning of the wedding is a personalised robe. These can be given out the night before if you're all staying over at the venue together, or on the morning of the wedding while you all get ready.

These gorgeous satin ones below are from ThreeTwo1 on Etsy, but you could also make your own with some iron on transfer paper.

3. Spa day

If you're a bit of a self confessed bridezilla and you've been going hard on your besties for a while, then I'm sure they will appreciate some R&R in the form of a spa break.

Either get them a voucher so they can go on their own time, or organise a spa trip so everyone can go and have some post-wedding fun together. Try Treatwell in the UK for the best local spa break deals.

4. ...Or a spa hamper

If a spa day is a bit out of your price range, or you have a huge bridal party, then consider making up your own spa hamper or night in box instead. You could add in a face mask, bubble bath, nail varnish, some organic soaps, chocolate... and don't forget a mini bottle of wine to top of it all off.

5. Make up bag

Useful for the morning, but also, the day of the wedding and then great as a keepsake forever.

Match the name on the front to the colour of your wedding, like this one below from Love Life Lettering, and you can even make it a part of the getting ready photographs.

6. Wedding Day survival kit

Wedding days can be long! Prepare your maid of honour and bridesmaids with a kit to keep them going... perfume, mints, tissues, hairspray, water, flip flops... whatever you think your girls might need on the day, add it in there.

Make your own stickers to personalise each item, or just pop it in a little box or gift bag with the name of each bridesmaid on it.

7. Jewellery

Nothing is more classic than jewellery. Get your best friends a necklace with their name or initial on, or get a shape that is special to you both.

Another good thing about this is that they can wear it on the wedding day, meaning that all of your bridesmaids will have matching jewellery rather than mismatched.

8. Print/Framed pic

If they're big into their decor, get them a framed print that they will love, or if you want to give your gift after the big day, print out a photo of you both from the wedding and frame that instead.

This one below from TheLittleGiftHouseUK is such a lovely idea, combining a message and a few of your best pictures together.

9. DIY box full of their favourite things

If you're already on a tight wedding budget but you know you definitely want to get your bestie something, then put together a box full of their favourite things like chocolates, drinks, make up, a CD from when you were younger, coffee... anything you think might make them smile. This doesn't have to cost you the earth but it will definitely mean just as much, if not more.

10. A poem

Another great budget gift idea is to write a meaningful poem that they can frame, or a letter that expresses how grateful you are that they're joining you on your big day. This is especially lovely if you have been friends with this person for years or if it's a family member and you have lots of great memories you can reminisce about in it.

If you don't have a way with words though, buy a poem online that fits you both perfectly like this one from bespokeverse below.
