The 10 Best Gifts for the Mother of the Bride/Groom

The last of my gift guides is focusing on the very important Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom.

Treat the most important ladies in your life to something that they can enjoy or that they can treasure forever.

Check out our other gift guides for GroomsBridesmaids and Father of the Groom/Bride too.

(Just FYI, Some of the below content contains affiliate links, but this won't cost you anything to click on, it just keeps the site running and helps me to keep making lots of helpful tutorials & provide wedding inspiration)

1. Plant

If the mother of the bride/groom has some green fingers then a plant to mark the occasion may be the perfect gift as they can watch it grow alongside your marriage (if they're sentimental like that!)

Get an etched planter, a personalised plant tag or pick their favourite flower to make it a little bit extra special.

2. Pamper box

Every mother deserves a some pampering, especially around what might be some potentially stressful events, so why not treat them to a box full of goodies to help them relax.

Add bath salts, luxurious body cream, high quality soaps, a small bottle of bubbly... and don't forget the chocolate!

3. Jewellery

An obvious one, but still a goodie. There are tonnes of options for jewellery that can be personalised or picked to match their wedding day outfit.

This gorgeous little locket is from MemoriesAndMoreGifts on Etsy

4. Framed picture

Another popular gift for brides and grooms to give their mums is a framed picture. This one is an especially good gift for after the wedding is over, so you can put a photo of you both together on the big day in it.

Get a personalised frame for something a bit more special, or match it to your wedding colours or the colours in the photo.

5. Mother of the bride stationery

If you're looking for a gift that you can give before you even start to plan the wedding then personalised stationery would be perfect. Make them feel a part of your preparation

Possibly not the best choice for a MIL or Mother who is already trying to take over the show however!

6. Framed quote or lyrics

This is a thoughtful but inexpensive way of showing your mother(s) how much they mean to you.

For the mother of the groom, why not get the lyrics of the wedding dance between mum and son printed and framed, or for the mother of the bride frame a relevant quote from their favourite book or film.

7. Glass

This is a nice touch for the morning of the wedding if you're going to be celebrating with a champagne breakfast.

It will also be a nice reminder of the big day every time they take it out to have a drink at home.

8. Candles

Most mothers love candles and there are a range of great options for getting personalised ones now, so you can pick something that suits them perfectly.

Get your wedding vows printed on a pillar candle like this one on the right, get a personalised 'mother of the bride' jar that they can re-use or just choose simple, and pick a delicious smelling white candle to fit with the day.

9. Afternoon Tea/Meal

For something before or after the big day that you can all do together, why not plan an afternoon tea outing or a meal out at your favourite restaurant.

This will give you all an opportunity to either plan any last little details, or have a good chat about your favourite bits from the wedding day.

10. Personalised Robe

If you're already getting your bridesmaids robes to wear on the morning of the wedding, then you may as well make your mother and mother-in-law to be feel part of the party too.

Make your own robes with iron on decals, or buy luxurious ones that they will want to keep wearing forever. These gorgeous ones below are from ThreeTwo1 on Etsy
