Having your pet as a part of your wedding can be exquisite. Picture your furry friend walking down the aisle with their tail wagging! Everyone would have their pets garbed up in a mini wedding outfit and walking down the aisle with them if they could. Sadly, things are not always so ideal, but we can be creative and make do with what we have to do.
There are some challenges that come with having your pet as part of your wedding. But with a little creativity, we can overcome them. Here are tips, sharing how to involve pets in your wedding. Check them out. You may find one or two that work for your ceremony.

1. Let Them Attend Your Ceremony
This idea depends on factors like your wedding location, venue, and your pet itself. For most weddings, dogs are the easiest to manage. You can also involve your horse, goat, and rabbit on your big day if they are well behaved too. Just remember to be sure that your venue allows pets. Most of them have a strict no pet policy, sadly.
2. Let Them Briefly Visit
If you can’t imagine your day without your furball but can’t have them at the whole ceremony, then let them pop in. Hire a pet sitter who is great at caring for your pet and is willing to show up. They’ll take care of your pet for most of the day so you can focus on the other details of your ceremony and then show up with them for some pictures.
3. Mention Them in Your Ceremony
While you may not be able to have your pet bring your ring down the aisle like in the movies, you can still include them in your ceremony. One way to do this by mentioning them in your vows. You could also dedicate a poem to them or reserve a seat with a framed photo of them upfront.
4. Represent Them in Your Stationery
From your save the dates to your menus and even your napkins, you can have your pet included in your stationery. You can also add them to your invites. All you have to do is plan a cute photoshoot with them prior so you can have high-quality images to use.
5. Let Them Feature in Your Décor
Have a photo table with your pet represented in many images. The photoshoot mentioned above could produce many images for that. You can also take your pet along on your engagement shoot so you can get brilliant pictures of them. Printed smartphone pictures will also work here.
6. Donate to A Charity or Pet Shelter
If you got your bet through a charity or shelter, this is a great way to pay homage to that. You could make the donation yourself or have your guests send a donation as part of your wedding gifts. It’s a lovely sentiment that most of your guests would love to be a part of. You can get cards printed to this effect or get some from the charity themselves. They often have lots ready.
7. Name A Cocktail After Them
If you’ll be having customized cocktails at your wedding, this is a great idea. Name one of those after your pet. They may not have a liking for the drink itself (At least I hope not!), but it gives you a chance to put up a lovely illustration of your pet as part of the décor.
8. Incorporate Them in Your Wedding Favours
How about gifting your guests who have pets some treats for them? It’s a splendid chance to show them that you celebrate your pet and are delighted to have them in your life. You could even use this lovely Printable Pet Signage from my Etsy shop to announce the presence of the treats as wedding favours. Your guests with pets would be really excited to get a treat that they can take home to their babies.
