How to figure out your Wedding Theme

When planning your wedding, there are so many amazing colour schemes and wedding themes to choose from, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to pick just one. Here are a few tips on how to pick the perfect ideas for your big day...

PICK ONE THING YOU LOVE

Look at decor, invitations, bridesmaid dresses and just pick one thing that you both absolutely LOVE, and base all of your ideas around that. Once you have the style, it is easy to look for Wedding Ideas on Pinterest and other Wedding websites that fit with that theme.

PICK YOUR FAVOURITE COLOURS

If you and your partner have two favourite colours that compliment each other then that is a great place to start. There are some amazing colour combos like blush and navy, or green and burgundy that look incredible together.

LOOK AT THE TOP TRENDS OF THE YEAR

And I don't mean just Wedding trends. What is big in shops, fashion and interior design is probably going to make it big in weddings too, and this also makes it easier to pick items to buy without having to scour the internet or pay inflated wedding prices. You might even luck out and manage to pick some stuff up in sales!

MATCH IT TO YOUR VENUE

If you have already picked a venue then figure out what will best suit our surroundings. Rustic boho might not be the best choice for a country manor setting, and vice versa, an elegant theme may not be the best choice for a wedding taking place in a teepee (although work it if that's what you want!) Use your surroundings as inspiration and look at other weddings that have been held there in the past to see what looked good.

VISIT WEDDING FAIRS

Although fairs can get a bit overwhelming with the amount of people trying to sell you things, and sign you up, it's often worth it for the tonne of freebies you can get, and even if you don't choose any of your vendors, it should give you a load of ideas of what is popular in weddings that season.

There should be some happening throughout the year in your local area, at popular wedding venues or there may be some wedding shows in your nearest city. Google Wedding Fairs and your country and you should be able to find lots of places that list the fairs for the year.

HAVE A THEME BASED ON YOUR INTERESTS

If, for instance, you both love travel, are big Potterheads or are huge superhero fans then think about basing your wedding around your biggest passion. There are tonnes of themed wedding ideas out there and you don't have to go full on, you can just add a few hints and details here and there to add your personalised touch to your big day.

This amazing cake topper is available on Etsy from WeddingRusticDeco and there are lots of other themed details available on there too.

Of course, you don't have to pick just one theme, you can mix and match colours, decor ideas, themes... the most important thing is that you have the wedding that you both want!
