1. Colouring In
Every kid loves colouring in! That's why we have made you some free wedding themed colouring in pages to download and print out on white paper as many times as you like. Have a separate kids table or area and provide some crayons, and look forward to the adorable pictures you'll get back after the big day.
Our FREE printable colouring in pages are available to everyone as a download in our members only freebie section. Sign up via the button below.
2. Lawn games
If you're having an outdoor summer wedding and it's more on the casual side, then consider setting up some outdoor lawn games. You could have a ring toss, giant noughts and crosses, big jenga blocks..! A lot of these games are easy to DIY so you don't even need to spend much on setting them up.
Just choose games that are easy to play and that will keep kids entertained for hours. Games that can then continue to be played into the night once the kids have went to bed are always a plus too!
3. I Spy
Set up an I Spy Game that will keep little minds busy, by giving them lots of different things to spot and tick off as the day goes on.
For older kids, and adults too, you can make the I Spy list into a photography game and get the table to work as a group to tick off different pictures from the list as they take them (ie. a group photo of the table). Give them a hashtag to use and ask them to post each photo on social media so that you will have a ready made album of curated pictures after your big day. Genius!
4. Candy Bar
Probably best to limit the times on this one if you have lots of kids who might be affected by a huge sugar rush, but this is a great one that will get everyone excited.
Have a selection of items so they can pick and mix, and provide your own little personalised bags for them to take their treats back to their table in.
5. Teepee
If you're having a bit of a boho theme, then set up a little teepee den for the little ones, filled with games, toys, books and other activities.
You could also have it away from the main festivities filled with cosy blankets and cushions so they can have a little nap if they're there for the whole day. Just don't make it so cosy that you lose the rest of your guests in there too!
6. Bubbles
If your venue is suitable, or you're outside, then why not have supply bubbles! You can either do lots of little separate bottles in a basket, or make a big bucket of bubble solution and use rackets or hoops to make huge bubbles for even bigger fun.
And as a bonus, they will probably make for some cool photo opportunities!
7. Lego Station
Set up a separate little table with lots of lego, for any kids that just need a bit of a break or who love to build.
You could also get some wedding lego to keep with the theme!
8. An Activity Box
If there are just a few children coming to your wedding and you don't want a dedicated area or a tonne of things to be kid friendly, then why not make them their own little boxes full of surprises.
You can include puzzles, snacks, toys, drinks or anything that will keep them happy and busy. Make your own, or buy a ready made box full of treats like these ones from glassactsupply on Etsy
9. Kid Friendly Photo Booth
All guests love a photo booth, so make sure if you do have lots of little ones coming that your camera is set up at a height that includes the little ones too. Also make sure there are some photo props that they will love too.
10. Mocktails
And lastly, for the kids who are quite happy to just chill with the grown ups, then why not get them more involved and make them some special wedding themed mocktails.
You could also have a mocktail station where they can mix their own drinks and come up with their own delicious concoctions. These are also great for those not drinking too.
Of course, it goes without saying that you should never leave small kids unattended and for any activities you do there should always be adults present.
Also, it's totally ok if you want a completely kid free wedding... do whatever works for you!
