So there are so many things you can do with vinyl decals, before, during and after your wedding, either if you’re making them yourself with a cutting machine or buying from a decal seller online. Doing it this way can often save you a lot of money, and you don’t have to be an expert to apply them, just take a look at some of our tutorials on this site for help if you need it!

And take a look at just some of the ideas below…

Pre-Wedding

Engagement Announcement

Unless you’re the one doing the proposing and want to use vinyl incorporated in that somehow, then the first thing you could make is your announcement. You could make a sign with ‘I said yes’ on, or ‘Our humans are getting married’ if you have pets, or Mom/Dad said yes if you have kids, and then share that with the world on social media, or just message it to your nearest and dearest.

Countdown Sign

As you’re planning you could also create your own countdown sign, which is super simple to do with chalkboard vinyl - check out our tutorial below…

Wedding Planner

To keep yourself organized you could also consider making your own wedding planner binder or scrapbook using vinyl on the cover. You can also add vinyl for each different section if you want to, but only if the card is thick enough that it won’t rip when applied.

Check out our tutorial here if you want to make your own planner cover…

Storage Organization

If you’re doing a lot of DIY or buying in advance then it might also be an idea to organize everything into boxes or storage and label each section so nothing gets lost. Especially when you’re buying in advance it gets so easy to forget what you already have or might still need.

Bachelorette/Bachelor/Bridal Shower

Then of course there are so many things you can make for a Bachelorette/Bachelor/Hen Do/Bridal Shower/Stag Do - you know what I’m talking about - so the obvious one is tshirts (check out our Iron On Vinyl Tutorial here) but you could also do custom swimwear, sunglasses, hats and flip flops if you’re going somewhere sunny…

Or custom koozies or cups to liven up your drinks. Cute tote bags that can double as gift bags. Or slippers for a bridal spa day. Or make sure everyone knows who the bride is by creating a personalized sash or veil, although they can be a little bit of a nightmare to add vinyl to so you might want to skip that one!

Or just make some cute decorations and signs if it’s just a more chilled-out shower that you’re having.

Whether you want to go all out or just keep it low key then there is definitely a way to use vinyl for your party.

Morning of the wedding

Then for the morning of the wedding you can do champagne glasses, custom hangers, robes or shirts, or just a little keepsake box to give to your bride or groom before you say I do, the list is endless really.

Ceremony

Welcome Sign

A welcome to our wedding sign is a pretty standard thing to create with vinyl, however you can do it so many different ways by sticking your wording on to mirrors, acrylic, wood, poster board, photo frames… anything you can find that is solid enough and will look good basically.

And you can also make directional signs to lead your guests to where they need to be too.

(All of our designs in TheDIYBB Etsy shop come with PNG and SVG files so you can use it with your cutting machine to create vinyl decals)

Aisle Signs

Aisle signs are a great ideas if you want to decorate the aisle and make it extra special.

Reserved seat signs

Page Boy & Flower Girl Signs

There are so many ways to create cute little signs for your Page Boy and/or Flower Girl to hold as they walk down the aisle

Shoe Decals

One of my favorites - add some decals to the bottom of your shoes as a fun little extra touch and for some good photo opportunities!

Reception

Seating plan

Then at the reception, there is obviously the seating plan if you are having one, although be warned this is probably the most time-consuming and fiddly sign you will make if you’re having lots of guests, so non-vinyl options for this might be preferred.

Or have no seating plan to make it even easier…

Reception Signs

Then you can also do signs for each of the different sections or areas of your reception - so a memorial table, a gifts and cards table, a fun little quote sign if you’re having a specific type of food or if you’re doing a smores area.

Pinterest is your best friend for coming up with ideas for this, there are so many cool things you can do here to make your wedding unique!

Table decorations

And then there are all of the various table decorations you could make too - like table numbers using wine bottles, acrylic, little wood slices. Centerpieces using the same again or jars. Place names using agate… the options are endless, depending on what your theme is!

Favors

You could also add little labels to favors if you’re making them or create custom ones for each person.

Photo Booth Props

Make your own photo booth props or a photobooth frame - I have a tutorial for that here, it’s super easy.

Guest Book

And you could also do a really cool custom guestbook using a large piece of wood, or photo frame, or anything you like really that would work, and putting your names and the date in the middle and getting everyone to sign it.

Just make it something that is easy to keep forever. For more inspo, check out our post…

Gifts

Bridal party gifts

And then of course there are tonnes of DIY gifts you can make for your bridal party like popping their names on to gift boxes, custom champagne glasses, make up bags, hip flasks or something else that they love!

Gifts for the Bride & Groom

And if you’re part of the bridal party then there is a tonne you can do for the bride and groom too - Mr & Mrs Pillows, Mugs, Glasses, tshirts, custom champagne bottle. Again use pinterest and/or your imagination and make something super special just for them!

After the big day…

Thank you cards

And then if you’re not completely done with DIY-ing after all of that, you could also think about doing a sign and holding it on the big day while you’re still dressed up, taking a picture and then making that into your thank you cards to send after everything is over.

memory book/box

And of course, don’t forget to save all of those photos and mementos somewhere safe so that you can look back at them over the years to come!

Obviously you probably won’t want to use all of those ideas as that might be a bit much, although no judgement if you do, you may as well make the most of that machine!

I hope that helps if you are planning a wedding and own a cutting machine, or helping someone else to DIY theirs! For even more Cricut wedding ideas, check out my other post…

And if you don't already have a Cricut machine or a Silhouette Cameo, but you are crafty and want to do a lot of Wedding DIY then it is definitely a great option to consider. There are 1000 different things you can do with them, and they will help you make Christmas gifts, Birthday gifts, party decorations and plenty of other crafty things for years to come. Take a look at the Cricut website for more info but do think carefully before purchasing, it isn't the cheapest piece of equipment and it does take some learning so you do need to weigh up the pros and cons first before investing in one.

Let me know which ones you will be making in the comments or if you have any other great ideas!
